Stress At Work How It Can Impact Your Health And What You Can Do About It.


Researchers are saying that the number of Americans who are getting stressed at work is getting higher and is not going to stop. Most people are in a rush getting their kids up for school getting them ready and dropping them off.They then get gas at the last minute because they didn't want to on the way home because they were too tired and stressed and just wanted to get home. By the time they get to work dodging traffic,combating road rage and then they drink two or more cups of coffee in the morning it is no wonder that they are stressed and tired. From depression to anxiety disorders to weight gain to high blood pressure, work stress can destroy even the most happiest and carefree person.
If you start the day with a good breakfast and a positive attitude and planning then chances are that the day wont be as stressful for you.
One thing that leads to job stress is not knowing what your job requires you to do. Talk with your boss and find out what is required of you and what you can do to meet them and what he or she can do to help you meet them.
Stay away from conflicts. Don't gossip and don't share too many personal opinions about religion and politics. It is a good idea to avoid all conflicts as much as possible. Avoid those who do not interact well with others.Avoid doing the office humer which sometimes can be very harassing and some people could slap you with harassment charges at work so just avoid it and just be a nice person.
Try to stay organized . Even if you are naturally messy as I am clean as you go. when you are done with a task put away the tool,pen or whatever you were using. Get organized in the morning and plan your routine out. Such as a different way to work in case of road work or other delays.
Avoid clutter at your desk of workspace. This applies to white and blue collar workers both.
Get comfortable.If you are not comfortable this can stress you out.If you have a chair that is hurting you to sit in it then ask for a new one. See about what you can do to have a more ergonomic workspace.
Walk at lunch. many people don't feel well because they lead a sedentary life on the job and off.
Get some exercise and walk at work during lunch . If you can't walk at lunch or don't have the energy then go on a quick one on your 15 minute break. It will combat stress and get you healthier.
Don't multitask. It is not working and leads to a frazzled feeling that comes from doing to much.
Keep the perfectionism in check. Doing a perfect job at work may make you feel good about yourself but can drive you and others that work with you nuts. Just strive to do your best and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.
Listen to soothing music on the way home.Listening to music can make you less stressed when you arrive at home and better prepared to interact with your loved ones.
Stress can lead to many diseases and health conditions if not kept in check. Following the above strategies and maybe come up with some of your own along with regular exercise and a good diet will help keep you alive longer.
